We have worked with schools across the United States, and believe us, you are not the only person asking this question! The answers that we have heard from our customers are as varied as our customers are. The debate over school uniforms is complicated, so we’ve included highlights from both sides for you to consider:

Professional:

Some say that a child in a school uniform is more likely to take school seriously. Putting on the school uniform signals he or she is going to school just like dad dresses up to go to work. Schools report that when students dress in “work clothes” rather than “play clothes” they take a more serious approach to their studies.

Promotes Good Discipline:

Many think that school uniforms help maintain school discipline, decreasing the amount of discipline problems. The argument is that children today are lacking in self-discipline because parents refuse to discipline them. This makes it more difficult on the teacher who has to deal with classes of 25-30 students at a time.

Reduces Fighting and Violence:

Schools report that school uniforms decrease fighting and violence that arrise out of arguments over fashionable clothes. Children invariably tease those who do not have trendy clothes. Those who can’t afford name brand clothes are often sensitive about their clothing. Schools struggling with gang problems report that school uniforms help ease tensions.

Distractions:

Many parents believe that students wearing school uniforms look nicer and that a school uniform policy ensures that children will come to school in appropriate clothing, avoiding distractions such as fads considered to be outlandish or overly revealing. Some students have turned school into an unending fashion show. This disctracts from learning, as some kids spend more time focused on thier clothes than on homework.

Values:

School uniforms stress that individuality and self-expression are not determined by designer clothing or the latest fashion fad.

Low Cost:

School uniforms are a bargain. They are becoming far less expensive than many other clothes. Schools argue that school uniforms are economical, especially compared to designer clothing, and parents agree given school uniform durability. They say school uniforms last longer because they are made for repeated wash and wear. Many schools capitalize on this by starting used school uniform stores or swap meets. Parents can get used school uniforms at discount prices, or just use them as hand-me-downs between siblings.

School Spirit:

Some feel wearing a school uniform helps build school spirit. It instills a feeling of belonging. As the Beach Boys said, “Be true to your school.” Schools report an increase in school pride.

Individuality:

Supressing individuality is the most commonly cited objection to school uniforms. Educators argue that an academic program encouraging students to pursue individual thought is much more important than what they wear. They inhibit creativity and self-expression, forcing students to conform.

Causes Discipline Problems:

Some students reject any rules. Forcing them to wear school uniforms only aggravates their rebelious spirit. They alter their school uniform by tightening, widening, shortening, or lengthening them, and teachers are given the impossible task of policing the students on a daily basis.

Little or No Relationship to Academics:

Opponents insist that their is no credible evidence that school uniforms improve school discipline or promote higher academic acheivement. The principal argument is that some great students are terrible dressers. Dress does not necessarily improve learning.

Back To School Tips: 21 Universal Success Secrets

For children and adults of all ages, it’s back to school time once again. In fact, until 2013, total enrollment for degree-granting institutions alone is projected to increase an estimated average of 19 percent to 18.2 million students.

However, regardless of age and level of education, back to school time generally signals time to meet new teachers and new friends. Time to learn new subjects and try new things.

What could come in handy is a set of basic guidelines or Guide to Success for students. Universal laws from those who’ve been there, done that.

With that in mind, Keynote Speaker Gregory Scott Reid, AKA The Millionaire Mentor, began listing some common denominators in order to share them with others and help them succeed.

‘I’ve been very fortunate to have had some success in my life, as well as the opportunity to meet with some very powerful and influential people over the years,’ said Gregory Scott Reid, three-time number one best-selling author of, “The Millionaire Mentor,” “Wake Up: Live The Life You Love,” and “Positive Impact.’ ‘These are the common laws that each seemed to follow, and I now wish to share them with you.’

Universal Success Secrets:

1. Always maintain a positive, solution-seeking attitude.

2. To truly succeed at anything, your chances increase when you enjoy the task. When you do what you love and love what you do, you’ll have success your whole life through.

3. The only limitations you really have are those you give yourself.

4. The only expectations you need to fulfill are those you give yourself.

5. Nothing is as powerful as a positive attitude, and nothing is as detrimental as a negative one.

6. Morally speaking, if you have to wonder whether something is right or wrong, chances are it’s wrong.

7. When you focus on other people’s success, yours is sure to follow.

8. Live your word. Lead by example.

9. Share. (Wealth + Information + Glory = Success)

10. You have the best chance of reaching a goal by simply giving yourself one to reach.

11. Observe every obstacle as a learning experience. The greater the challenge, the greater the reward.

12. Do the hardest thing first, and the rest will be easy.

13. Treat others the way that they want to be treated.

14. Few great accomplishments have ever been achieved by anyone alone; seek support from those whose talents exceed your own.

15. You are the reflection of the five people you associate with most, and your income is the average of those five people. Choose your friends wisely.

16. A dream written down with a date becomes a GOAL. A goal broken down into steps becomes a PLAN. A plan backed by ACTION makes your dream come true.

17. You can learn more about someone’s character on one bad day than on all their good days put together. The true measure of all great leaders is how well they weather storms.

18. It’s better to invest time doing what pleases you, rather than to waste time trying to please everyone else.

19. In the end, the extent of your own success will be measured by the accomplishments that you have helped create in others.

20. Having potential simply means that you possess talents and abilities you aren’t applying.

21. Things are the way you think they are, because you think they are that way. Your perception determines your experience.

‘It’s All Who You Know’

Reid invites people from all walks of life to, ‘It’s All Who You Know,’ an Inspirational Awards weekend & Charitable Event. Hosted November 4-6, 2005, in San Diego, the event features Reid and several other top keynote speakers who will be honored for their accomplishments and share their key success secrets with attendees each day.

“True wealth comes in the giving, not the keeping,’ said Reid. ‘Keep Smilin’!’

The I AM Foundation is the official sponsored charity of the event. Their mission ” is inspiring millions of children and adults worldwide by gifting them with educational books and music.” They are located at 3304 Fourth Avenue, San Diego CA 92103-5704.

School fundraisers are necessary even though many people and parents complain that the local school is always fund raising. The money raised through school fundraisers goes into such things as field trips and equipment that the school cannot afford to purchase on its own.

Schools are always trying to find different fund raising ideas so that they have fundraising events that offer something unique and make people want to attend. Bake sales and car washes are old-fashioned fund raising ideas that people are getting tired of. While school fund raisers are necessary, neither the administration nor the parents want to have the children always going door to door selling different items.

Some of the popular fund raising events that draw a crowd to the school fund raisers are those that offer an opportunity for the whole family to have fun and win prizes. A carnival day or a supper is one fund raising idea that brings in a lot of money if you can get some of the businesses in the area to donate the prizes. No matter how much money you raise when everything is donated, you don’t have any expenses.

School fund raisers often involve selling cookies, candy or calendars. One of the fund raising events that is always popular around Christmas is a flea market. This doesn’t even seem like a fund raiser because those who want to sell any used items or crafts for Christmas pay a fee to set up a table. At the same time the school can operate a canteen or sell hotdogs to add to the money being raised.

Another popular fund raising idea is to sell discount cards or coupon booklets. The discount cards can offer a percentage off common items that parents buy for themselves or school supplies for the children. The cost of the booklet of discount coupons is substantially less than the amount of money that you save. For this event the school simple has to announce that it is having a fund raising event and send home booklets with each student. If the parents do not wish to purchase them, they simply send them back. More often than not though, the students come back looking for more booklets to sell to their relatives. Family members are good supporters of school fund raisers.

School fundraisers are common, but necessary.

Can we consider the home-study driver education a replacer for the traditional 30-hours classroom course?

With a view to obtain a proper result to this issue some specialists made a comparison between performance and background knowledge levels of some students, picked up randomly to accomplish three different driver ducation courses and another randomly chosen students to complete the other traditional course. We should add that the home study driver education courses which were to be tested comprised of two courses designed by Sky’s The Limit Interactive under the contract of DMV: the interactive CD ROM course and a paper book for practice, both of them warring the license of Private Educational Network’s(PEN) courses on the Internet and workbooks.

Moreover, the participants chosen randomly from California by means of voluntary application forms for participating in the study were assigned with both standard driver education and the some of three home-study courses. What should be also said is the fact that almost all the driver education schools participating in the research made an offer of highly reduced costs for students applying for the study, so as to enable teenagers by the permission of their parents to enroll in this research. At the end of the courses, DMV made a comparison between the results and performances of the students on both sides of the four courses, by means of an exam given at the end of the course, the DMV writing skills test and the DMV ‘behind the wheel’ drive test so as to remark if there were different levels of knowledge and performances given by the usage of the two different courses.

At the end of the test the balance seemed to be in favor of the home-study driver education, this way the primary question being answered. Researchers claim it is somewhat linked to the degree of focusing, interest and result, as a cause effect relation for the ones who have taken the home-study driver education which is bound to be the best alternative for the standard 30-hours classroom course.

When I was in junior high, my best friend at the time (Kyle McMenamy–wonder what ever happened to him?), showed up with a book he thought was the most amazing thing he’d ever read. It was entitled, “Subliminal Seduction” and it went on to describe how advertisers deliberately placed “subliminal images” in their ads that literally hypnotized people into buying.

The author (who I’m too lazy to look up) “proved” how a plate of fried clams was actually full of pictures of people having an orgy, how a beer commercial really was driven by images of oral fun, and all kinds of other exciting stories. Of course as junior high kids we ate it all up, and went around hunting for “subliminal seduction images” wherever we could find them. It was a lot of fun, but the only image I could ever see was the naked guy on the box of camel cigarettes. Supposedly there was a naked woman too, but I could never see that one, no matter how many different ways I looked.

Ahhhh, how I wish all of that stuff was true!

Why am I telling you all this? Here’s why: I get questions every now and then from guys who want my opinions on “psychic ways to meet women,” “relationships as energy,” and “magick.” Personally, I have no problem with any of those things with one exception: they just don’t produce anywhere near the seduction results of actually talking with a woman.

Now, I’ve had some experiences that could only be termed “energetic” and I hope to have more. But none of these things are anywhere near as effective as doing the tried and true seduction techniques that get women to approach you, and these things all involve, at some level, interacting with a live woman.

Being a fun, unpredictable, naughty boy who she never knows what you’re going to say or do next is a bazillion times more effective than any “psychic” or “energetic” method I’ve heard of. Running a well written profile on the online dating services will get more women to approach you than any “ritual” you can perform. Becoming a dynamic public speaker may not give you psychic abilities, but it’ll dang sure get women to fight over you. When it comes to the seduction of desireable women, demonstrating authority never seems to fail.

My point is this: there are a certain set of male behaviors that get results with women, and outside of that, the efficiency of everything else is so low as to be non-existent. I think “energy” and “psychic senses” and “clairvoyance” are pretty dang cool, but I put them in the same category as “subliminal seduction.” A lot of fun, but that’s it.

If you want to be successful with women, just stick to the narrow set of behaviors that’s been proven to work, and avoid everything else. When you think about it like that, it’s actually kind of boring, but the seduction results sure ain’t. To use a football analogy, it’s like the difference between a “good loss” and an “ugly win.” I’ll take the ugly win 100% of the time.

Develop your skills and talents to perfection and outsource what you lack. If you have a talent for writing, become the perfect salesletterwriter and if you don’t know how to build a web site let an expert do that for you. By using education and outsourcing all tasks in your business are done well and you stay ahead of your competitors.

1. Your Objective and Strategy

If you organize your business you formulate an objective and develop a strategy to reach that objective. You also define the tools that you need to make the strategy work. Like sales letters, budgets, investment in hardware and software, education has to be an integral part of your tool box. When you have the whole picture ready you have a very good idea what skills and abilities you need to bring the journey to a good end. But there is another thing.

2. Changes

We live in a time of rapid changes. Everything around us changes in an incredible speed and it effects us all. There is also an effect on the way we are doing business. New views on economics, technical changes, new and very fast ways of communication through the virtual highway…it all asks for an attitude of anticipation and a refreshment of knowledge, skills and abilities. You must prepare yourself in time for the future. If you don’t, you lose because your competitors do and try to take your share of the market.

3. Talents

Everybody has talents. One has a talent for languages and is an excellent copy writer, another has a creative talent and is a very good web designer. Your talents make you good in one task and less suitable for others. You should constantly evaluate yourself; which task is done well and which task needs improvement. However the problem is that with the growing complexity of your business you can’t do everything equally well. And to be successful every aspect of your business has to be outstanding.

4. Two Lessons

There is something funny about people. What they don’t have they will never get. A lack of talent for mathematics can never be compensated by studying hard. It will always be a weak point. On the other hand, they can improve their real talents into perfection. This holds two lessons for you and these lessons are:

1. Never try to learn something for which you don’t have a talent. It takes a lot of time and money to only understand the basics. Time and money can be better used. E.g. for talking with an expert in the field you try and cannot master. This is called outsourcing. Outsourcing to others what they do more efficiently is a successful management strategy and not a sign of weakness. 2. Develop your talents into perfection. Never stop improving yourself in the things you are really good at. Become an expert in what suits you. Education is the only way to improve the knowledge of your own intellectual capital

The bottomline of this article is that you should be well aware of your talents as well as of your limitations when developing your business or anticipating changes. You should always be prepared to act efficiently. Educate yourself to the highest level possible, or outsource tasks.

School uniforms are unlike any other business in the clothing industry. Street clothing retailers such as Land’s End, JC Penney, or Gap limit what kind of clothing you can buy. When you walk into one of their stores, what you see is what you get. School uniform supply companies are different. When your school partners with Hall Closet Uniforms & Apparel, your options are endless. Your school has the ability to create a school uniform using any combination of styles, colors, cuts or fabric that you want.

This is a great advantage to your school. You can create a look that matches your ideals perfectly. It is this flexibility that sets school uniforms apart from the rest of the clothing industry. Of course, you’re probably asking yourself, ‘If the school uniform industry can offer so many options, why isn’t everyone doing it?’ The answer is that it is more complicated. When we stock inventory at Hall Closet, we’re stocking in order to be flexible, not only for your school, but for each school that we work with.

This leaves us with a lot of items to keep in stock. For pants alone there is plain front, pleated front, relaxed fit, classic fit, and elastic back. Each of these has lengths of 30, 32 and 34 multiplied by all of the various waist sizes. While we order these things, we are trying to anticipate what sizes and styles the students from your school will need. Over the years, we have become very accomplished at this, but there is still a level of uncertainty.

So when it comes to the question, ‘How do I get the most out of my school uniform supply company?’ We answer, ‘It’s best to order early!’ Its not that we don’t stock the styles and sizes that your school needs. It’s just that we know flexibility is important to your school, and unlike the rest of the clothing industry, we’re going to give you all the options. But while the rest of the clothing industry can keep higher levels of inventory, our wider selection of items forces us to keep lower levels of inventory.

Because of this, it is an industry standard for parents whose schools partner with school uniform supply companies to order no later than July 31st, whether you’re working with Hall Closet, or any other supplier. We tell our partner school families to start ordering as early as June. This allows time for school uniform supply companies to gauge levels of inventory, and to order more stock if certain items run low. If by chance a popular item does go on backorder, there is still time to get it out to you before school starts. In this way, we can be flexible, and you can get what you want, when you need it.
